That looks like a canyon, I bet the wind whips through there.
This is one of the streets I try to take visitors to when out of towner's come in! very nice.
I really like the colorful banners in the "canyon" . . . nice capture.
this is a stunning photo and the colourful banners hanging from each lamp post are lovely.
Thanks, Jim, Neva, Slim and Sam!Jim, the wind does whip through the canyon. This street is used often for movies shot on location (The Untouchables, for ex.) and I love taking photos around here...Hi Slim, and welcome to Chicago, I hope to see you here again soon!
great photo b.c. I have trudged this street many times in the past. I remember how pleasent it can be in the spring but also the road-salted slush and the cold wind whipping through my clothes in the winter.
Thanks, Dan--it's a great place to be even when the weather is challenging...
As a visitor, I can say that the canyon is one of the most awe inspiring sights in the entire city. I wish there was one of those live web cams that showed pictures looking down the canyon. I have an old picture of the view from a nearby office window that looks out upon The Chicago Board of Trade Building. My first guess is that the building this office is in may be somewhere in the canyon, but my sence of direction and even distance from that height is so bad that it could be off in an entirely different direction.
thank you diksagev, i agree it is awe-inspiring I hope it won't be too long before you can visit again :)
