Mojo Blues

Today a little series: On Adams and Michigan, this lady puts some money in the sax player's bag and the sax player, busy as he is, bows his thanks. The sudden move surprises her so much so that she jumps back, looking just about ready to whack the guy with her tote bag.
Luckily, her mojo returns and no street musicians (or sweet and nervous ladies) are hurt in the making of this series...

No Time Like The Present

The Wrigley Building, 400 Michigan Avenue. Notice how the west clock seems to run slower than the south clock. P.S. I've not been able to visit anyone's dpb over the last few days and have only been able to squeeze a visit to my own blog between too much and too many...thanks very much for your patience, your visits and your comments!

Clad in Terra Cotta

35 E. Wacker. Giaver and Dinkelburg, Architect, 1926-27. This landmark 40-story building was once the tallest outside New York City at the time of its construction. Also known as the Jewelers Building, it has a beautiful, very classic design, elegant in both exterior and interior --definitely a must-see. Read a review (and see more pics) of this building that begins with the sentence: "It's not very often that we gush uncontrollably about a building..."

Guess I'll Go Elsewhere

My neighborhood supermarket, the 75 year old Hyde Park Co-op Grocery, closes today. I never thought I'd see the produce section empty like this. There'll be another store in place by the end of February. But for now, it'll have to be elsewhere for groceries...

Where Our Sympathies Lie

Photography at the exhibit Sympathy for the Devil at the MCA (see yesterday's post) was limited to just this hallway where a line up of our favorite bad boys of rock and roll was hanging on the wall. Here's a photo of the women gazing at them...
