The Stone Container Monologues
150 N. Michigan. The Smurfit-Stone Building has the dubious honor of having a juicy urban legend revolving around its distinct design earning it this other name.

Under the Red Line
Clybourn Avenue and Bissel Street. This portion of the Red Line began operating in 1943. Its diagonal cut through Clybourn Avenue reduced the trip from the north section of the city to the loop by eleven minutes. Wiki has a nice digestible page on the Red Line's fascinating history but if you really want major nuts and bolts, then you must go to Chicago "L".org.

The Chicago Temple Building
W. Washington Street. Wiki says this is the tallest church building in the world (though not the tallest church--that honor belongs to the Ulm Cathedral) Home to the First United Methodist Church of Chicago, 23 of its floors are taken up by religious and office use. The building to the left is the Cook County Administration Building.
