The Marquette Building

The Marquette Building is named after Jacques Marquette, the first European settler who explored the Chicago region in 1674. Designed by Holabird and Roche. Completed 1895. 140 South Dearborn Street.

  1. I love the color and movement in this photo. Really sets off the entrance nicely, and you capture the robust movement of the city. Beautiful.

  2. Nice doorway. It seems the buildings 60 plus years old or older have the more ornate doorways. I usually do my doorways on Wednesdays, inspired as I was by Isadora in Budapest.
