Miegs Field on Northerly Island
This month's theme day is 'water'. This is Merril C. Miegs Field Airport on Northerly Island as viewed from Burnham Harbor. Opened in 1948, the downtown single-strip airport closed on March 30, 2003 under highly controversial circumstances--you can read that story here.
