  2. your photos often tell great stories that i don't think people always pick up on. this one is rich with the human condition carrying on its existence in an overblown urban environment. i don't detect any emotions in either character, but i like how their worlds seem so separate despite their proximity. the burghoff sign is also such a great chicago icon. great photo for this blog!

  5. I heard the Berghoff closed, which broke my heart. This photo seems to back that up. Surely if the restaurant were open there would be more than one face in the window. Great faces in this photo.

  6. I've eaten at the Berghoff a couple of times and loved its old world elegance. I was sorry to hear when it closed too.

  7. I'm curious about the Berghoff, too. I heard that it closed, but I walked by it one of the last times I was in the city (just a couple of months ago), and it looked open.
