Losing Sleep

Daylight Saving Time (DST) began today which means a bunch of groggy people woke up an hour earlier than usual while the rest of us (okay maybe just me) got lazy and stayed in bed. The photo is from the group exhibit "Soft Life" at the Hyde Park Art Center which runs until March 30.

  1. Hi B.C. I'm all for the soft life too. I slept in today, so you're not the only one. What's with the silhouettes on the wall. Looks like a mating ritual of bearded guys:)

  2. I stayed in bed late. But I normally do on Sundays.

  3. I think perhaps that "Clueless" slept a wee bit too long to come up with that interpretation . . . lol

This is a perfect shot for today . . . and I'm liking the fact that I can still see the sun shining outside at 6pm EST.

  5. I've learned to conquer DST. I set my clocks forward/back on Friday night. That way, I have all weekend to enjoy/loathe it all. Still, I slept in on Sunday, too. Nice feeling, that.

  6. Actually, clueless has it pretty close! Miller & Shellabarger, the artists who created the silhouettes on the wall, are indeed an bearded artist couple. Their work, and the work of the show in general, explores intimacy and the bonds that hold people together. There's even a film of them sewing themselves into the bed you see in the picture projected onto the bed.

Time Out has a short review of the show: http://www.timeout.com/chicago/articles/art-design/26833/soft-life.

Thanks, B.C., for putting up the great photo!
